Mary Starks has a tough day job, but when she is near a Gracie studio, in her off hours she doesn’t miss an opportunity to train, as evidenced by her post workout photo with Ryron Gracie at the Beverly Hills Gracie Training Center. Go Mary!

IMA GJJ Competitors Clean up at “The Good Fight” Submission only tournament
What a weekend, our competitors were wearing so much metal their necks must of been killing them! Amelia and Adam (pictured on R below) both won first place in their gi and no gi kids divisions. Melissa and Doug Honabach (on L below) in their first tournament also placed in their divisions. Abraham Gray took home two golds and a silver. Not a bad weekend for a non sport school. Thanks to Ben Yisreal for providing the sideline coaching and to Richard Starks who helped officiate. Check back for more photos and videos.
Sarang Mittal earns his GJJ Blue Belt
Sarang Mittal earned his Blue Belt in GJJ this Saturday. Most People don’t realize he started with Steve when he was 5 years old, in his American Martial Arts program at Ravinia and earned his Advanced Brown Belt there before concentrating on Gracie Jiu-jitsu. Sarang will be off to Cal Tech very shortly, starting as a freshman. We will truly miss him!
